Based in Austin, Texas, DAAS’ mural work utilizes a combination of abstract and representational imagery, driven by a distinctive color palette, and designs that incorporate bold shapes saturated with vivid colors. His larger-than-life artwork brings an overwhelming sense of beauty and inspiration into the environment.
DAAS believes the purpose of public art is for the enjoyment of everyone. He considers the understanding of the community and environment in which the work will reside to be an integral part of the design process. Through his artwork, DAAS hopes to inspire, encourage, and most importantly create something that is beneficial to the wellbeing of the community.
On The Range celebrates the legacy of BEVO, a Texas longhorn steer, and the mascot of The University of Texas at Austin. The artwork features a larger-than-life BEVO surrounded by native Texas wildflowers, the UT Tower and a beautiful yellow Texas Rose.
