About Moody Center:

The 3D Artist will support the award-winning Moody Center’s branding, creative, and marketing teams with ever-evolving augmented reality needs. Moody Center provides the nation’s 10th-largest city with a premier venue to host the biggest artists and acts on the planet. Designed specifically for concerts, the new arena is home to The University of Texas Women’s and Men’s basketball games, family shows, and other sporting and community events. Moody Center is the first of its kind in the industry with an unrivaled partnership between Oak View Group, Live Nation/C3 Presents, The University of Texas at Austin, and Minister of Culture, Matthew McConaughey.

3D Animation and Augmented Reality Needs:

We are seeking a freelance 3D artist with strong capabilities in both 3D content creation and augmented reality development to enhance the fan and artist experiences at Moody Center. The individual should have experience in producing immersive and interactive visual content within Blender, 3D Studio Max or similar. Preference will be given to individuals with experience in large-scale events and performances, specifically in the concert, festival or venue marketing space.

Skillset & Key Deliverables:

  • Candidates must be based in the United States
  • The partnership will kick off in May of 2025 and run through May of 2026.
  • Bulk creation of generic 3D assets, and bespoke event-specific assets to enhance the fan and artist facing experiences on site.
  • Work alongside in-house Creative team to extrude previously created art files and layers as 3D objects. 
  • Projects will include but is not limited to digital models (3D visualizations and animations) that can be customized across a variety of events and campaigns.
  • Design of Augmented Reality experiences that integrate seamlessly into the fan and event experience. These AR experiences may range from virtual event previews, interactive digital content for marketing, or enhancing event engagement on-site or via mobile apps.
  • Experience in real-time rendering, motion graphics, and high-quality visuals optimized for both digital displays and mobile integration.
  • Flexibility to create content that is scalable, easy to adapt, and can be repurposed across different platforms and event formats.
  • Moody Center owns various equipment integrated with Touch Designer, used for projection mapping and augmented reality.

Software Preferences:

  • Advanced level skillset in Blender, 3D Studio Max
  • Functional understand of TouchDesigner a visual development platform, a bonus but not required
  • Advanced level skillset in Adobe creative suite specifically Illustrator and Photoshop

Timeline & Requirements:

  • Bulk order of pre-designed 3D/AR assets to be delivered by the end of the year.
  • Ongoing support for creating customized animations and AR content throughout the year, aligned with our event calendar.
  • Collaborative communication with the in-house marketing and branding teams to ensure alignment with Moody Center branding, event themes, and technical specifications.
