(AUSTIN, TX) Last night at the 34th Annual Pollstar Awards in Beverly Hills, CA, Moody Center was named the world’s Best New Concert Venue for 2022-23. The prestigious awards ceremony at The Beverly Hilton recognized the past year’s top-achieving artists, tours, events, and venues in the concert industry. Since opening in Austin only ten months ago, Moody Center has welcomed nearly one million fans and hosted over 91 concerts. The inaugural season was highlighted by blockbuster artists representing every major genre of music including George Strait, Eagles, Swedish House Mafia, Harry Styles, Justin Bieber, Andrea Bocelli, Karol G, Florence + The Machine, Kendrick Lamar, Iron Maiden, Roger Waters, Michael Bublé, Lizzo, Grupo Firme, Dave Matthews Band, Carrie Underwood, Daddy Yankee and most recently, Bruce Springsteen.
Jeff Nickler, senior vice president of Oak View Group and general manager of Moody Center accepted the award on behalf of the arena. “This award belongs to the fans who have embraced this venue and purchased tickets in unprecedented numbers and to the employees who have brought this arena to life. We look forward to building upon this incredible first season and another record-breaking year in 2023.”

An impressive line-up will continue to fill the Moody Center event calendar well into 2023. Recently, CMT and CBS together announced for the first time in 20 years that the CMT Music Awards, the country’s only fan-voted awards show, will be hosted at Moody Center on April 2, 2023. Other announced acts for this year include Morgan Wallen, Journey, MUSE, SZA, Blink-182, Madonna for two nights, RBD, Janet Jackson, Sam Smith and Depeche Mode.
